New Year, Old Clothes

Happy New Year Darlings!

Here we are in 2015. The new year is often a time for resolutions and for looking to the future. I'm not much of a planner (as I'm sure many of you know well and find extremely frustrating!) However, this year my plan is to make my fashion more sustainable by trying to incorporate as many vintage and second hand items as I can. I am encouraging you to do the same and to help this along I will be seeking out some of the best vintage and charity shops in NYC.

I went to hear a wonderful lecture by the poet (and friend) Alison Deming yesterday who spoke about climate change and the impact the arts can have on encouraging people to take this important subject, not only into their minds, but into their hearts as well. I hope my little blog here will inspire a change in you too. Embrace the vintage! After all you'll never see anyone else in the same outfit, the clothes were much better made in years past and it's often so affordable.

Right, getting off my soapbox now (which is hard to do in these heels) enjoy this week's post and have a great 2015!

Ruthie Darling xoxo
