New York Fashion Week Part Two

Hi Darlings,

As Milan fashion week draws to a close, we fashionistas can breathe a sigh of relief and reflect upon what is up and coming for us this year in terms of our sartorial choices. In the second part of my NYFW roundup, I am sharing with you the final shows that spoke to me. I hope you like them too.

First up, Lie Sang Bong where we saw velvet, leather and Victoriana - a big trend for this year divas. Rock that Queen Vic chic.

The next show was the Veronica Beard presentation. A favourite of mine as the collection seemed to have a distinctly English countryside vibe. Natural colours, florals and pale skinned redheads (yes!). They looked like they were all having a weekend at their country pile and about to hit up the local gastropub. All of this in the glorious setting of the grand hall of the Highline Hotel

I'm in love with that model. I saw her at several events and to me she always stood out. I think we're friends on IG. (And by friends I mean she liked the photos of her that I posted and nothing else on my feed, but hey that's something.....maybe.....ahhh she's too cool for me. I can't blame her)

The epic ceiling....

In case you're missing my visage here I am several (free) red wines deep

The Mattieu Mirano presentation was fun. The stylist decided to add turtles to the scene which provided much hilarity - if you go to my instagram you can see several videos of models being harassed by the little creatures.

Loving the side eye here.

That's it for NYFW babies. More Ruthie Darling posts on Friday!

Have a great week!

New York Fashion Week February 2016

Hello Darlings,

This year your girl Ruthie Darling attended her first New York Fashion Week, hitting up some fabulous runway shows, presentations and parties. Here is the first in a short series of posts about the crazy NYFW AW 2016.

First of all, the Thomas Wylde runway show. Oversized coats, ruffles and red:

Here are some snaps of the LaQuan Smith Party. Miss Jay was in attendance looking glam, as were some very cool kids I was hanging out with.

You can just about see Miss Jay here lol

Below are some looks from the Concept Korea runway show. Muted shades with pops of bright colours abound.

Thanks for stopping by Darlings.

See you all soon for my #NYFW

Dore Runway Show SS16

Hello Fashionistas,

Unless you've been living under a rock here in NYC, you'll know it's Fashion Week. Yesterday my trusty right hand man

and I attended the Dore Runway Show at the gorgeous

Gramercy Park Hotel.

We quaffed prosecco and noshed on teeny tiny (aka model-sized) bacon sandwiches and saw the latest collection. As we entered the terrace we were greeted by about twenty models standing around on cubes. A touch disconcerting but we soon settled in and started to mingle with the fashionistas in attendance. Check out the photos below.

Happy #NYFW all.

Men's Fashion Week

Hello Darlings,

Whilst I'm sunning myself and belting out showtunes in Florida, New York has been hosting Men's Fashion Week. Although I could not be there, my Man-Friday

Denton Taylor

was on the ground to find some of the fashionistas on the scene.

Have a gander at some of the fashionistas below.

#1 A look I noticed appearing is the statement-coloured suit. Check out these beauties:

#2 Patterned trousers have long been a staple for us lady-fashionistas, but now men are getting in on the action and it's fabulous!

#3 See-thru shirts also made an appearance. Take a look at these peek-a-boo chaps

#4 Let's not forget about the stylish groups of friends that were spotted on the street. #squadgoals

#5 The prize for the hottest janitor in FW goes to this bearded gent

#6 I know it's men's fashion week, but we can't forget the chic ladies that were out and about

#7 Shout-out to this baby who is about to become NYC's most gorgeous sprog

Thanks to my darling
